No. FastBots is an information and explanation tool, it can walk a student through a concept or a similar worked example, but it doesn't mark assignments, score essays or certify learning. Grading and assessment should stay with your tutors. We'd recommend telling students that clearly in the bot's welcome message.

You decide. In Tune AI you can set the answer sources to your trained content only, write custom instructions telling it to stay inside the course, and configure a fallback message for off-topic questions ('I can only help with the Calculus 101 material, try asking about a specific lesson').

PDFs, Word docs, plain text, CSVs, Google Sheets, manually added text and YouTube video URLs. You can also crawl public course pages and your sitemap. Material behind a student login won't be crawled, but you can upload the underlying PDFs and transcripts directly.

Yes. FastBots supports around 95 languages, a student can ask in Spanish or Mandarin and get the explanation back in the same language, even though your course material is in English. It's not a substitute for translated course content, but it's a real help in mixed cohorts.

Yes, on the Business plan and above. With Live Chat enabled, a tutor or TA can claim a conversation in real time when a student needs human help, for example, discussing an extension or a tricky concept the bot couldn't explain clearly. The student stays in the same chat instead of starting over.
+
Yes, on the Business plan. Email Replies connects an inbox like support@yourcourse.com, reads inbound emails, drafts replies from your trained content, and either sends automatically or queues drafts for a human to approve. Handy for the 'when does module 5 unlock?' type questions.
+
It can be told not to. Set the knowledge sources to your trained content only and configure a fallback message like 'I can't find that in the course material, please post in the forum or email your tutor'. You can also review unanswered questions in the Knowledge Assistant (Business plan and above) and add the missing content.
+
On the Business plan, Auto Retrain revisits selected website sources daily, weekly or monthly so the bot stays close to your latest content. For uploaded PDFs and transcripts, you upload the new versions and remove the old ones when the syllabus changes.

New FastBots accounts start with a 14-day free trial, not the legacy Free plan. It includes 1 chatbot and a one-time allowance of 200 message credits, with no credit card required; different AI models use credits at different rates. You can try the main chatbot features and integrations, except Reseller white-labelling and scheduled automation. When the trial ends, the chatbot goes offline and no test credits remain until you upgrade, while your dashboard, settings, previous chats and Contacts stay accessible. Paid plans start at $39/month. Existing users who were already on the legacy Free plan return to it after their trial.

Each chat session is its own conversation. Course staff with dashboard access can review chat history in FastBots to spot common sticking points, so be transparent with students that conversations are reviewable. Don't ask students to share sensitive personal information through the bot.
