The plugin itself is free to install from the WordPress directory. You need a FastBots account to connect it — the free FastBots plan includes 1 chatbot and 50 messages a month with no credit card required. Paid plans start at $39/month when you need more messages, more bots or features like Auto Retrain and Live Chat.

No. The plugin handles the install. You copy two values (Source URL and Embed ID) from your FastBots dashboard into the plugin settings and save. No theme files, no functions.php edits, no developer needed.

The widget loads asynchronously, so it doesn't block your page from rendering. If you're using a caching plugin like WP Rocket or LiteSpeed Cache, the widget still works alongside it — you don't need to exclude any scripts manually for a typical setup.

The crawler reads what a public visitor can see, so pages behind a login generally won't be included. If you need the bot to know that content, upload it as a PDF, DOCX or manual text source inside FastBots instead.

Yes for pre-sale questions — the bot can answer about products, shipping, returns and policies from your trained store content. It cannot look up live order status, inspect a customer's cart or update profile details on WooCommerce. Those live actions are currently Shopify-only inside FastBots.

You set a fallback message in Tune AI — usually something like "I'm not sure, but I can pass this to the team if you leave your details." The unanswered question is also logged so you can review it and improve the bot's training. On Business plan and above, Knowledge Assistant surfaces these gaps for you.

Yes, on the Business plan ($89/month) and above. Live Chat lets you set availability hours and a threshold for when the bot offers human help. A team member can then claim the chat, see the full conversation history and reply in real time.

FastBots doesn't have a native CRM integration, but you can connect it to most CRMs through Zapier or Make. When a lead is captured in the chat, the workflow runs and pushes the details into your CRM, spreadsheet or email tool. The workflow fires after the lead event — the bot itself doesn't make mid-conversation tool calls.

Yes. In the Appearance section you can set the widget colour, avatar, welcome message, position, placeholder text and suggested questions. On Premium and above (or with the Remove Branding add-on) you can also remove the "Powered by FastBots" label.

No — and it shouldn't be. FastBots handles the routine, repeatable questions your site already answers, and routes anything sensitive or complex to a human. Think of it as a first responder that frees your team up for the conversations that actually need them.
